Three social classes in England are encountered at the start of the 20th century. The Victorian capitalists (the Wilcoxes), who consider themselves to be aristocrats and have no gods; the educated bourgeois (the Schlegels), who are humanistic, philanthropic and intellectual; and workers (the Basts), who struggle for survival. As they attempt to both softly discredit the Wilcox's prejudices and help the Basts, the Schlegel sisters will find their humanism torn apart. --Yepok
