Ted and Jerry are in their twenties, young and in love. They also belong to the New York "in-crowd". Jerry marries Ted, crushing a longing Paul. Paul, distraught, gets drunk and crashes his car. This causes Dorothy to lose her face. Paul marries Dorothy out of compassion. The seemingly perfect union of Ted and Jerry ends in infidelity years later. Popular Jerry, who is inwardly unhappily, lives a wild life and Ted sunk into alcoholism. Jerry meets Paul who is still in love with her. Paul and Jerry spend time together, but he plans to divorce Dorothy. Dorothy has second thoughts when she sees Jerry again. --Gary Jackson
