Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood (Japanese, Gang noLian Jin Shi Fullmetal Alchemist, Hepburn : Hagane jutsushi), is a Japanese anime television program adapted from Hiromu Arakawa's original Fullmetal Alchemist manga series. The series was produced by Bones and directed by Yasuhiro Iti. Written by Hiroshi Oki, it is composed by Akira Senju. This series was created to faithfully adapt the manga's storyline after the 2003 Fullmetal Alchemist anime series diverted from it.
Production on Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood began in 2008. From April 2009 to July 2010, the series aired for sixty-four episodes. Funimation licensed the series in North America for the first time. The series was English-dubbed on Adult Swim between February 2010 and September 2011. Funimation lost the rights in 2016 and the series was transferred to Aniplex of America.
Fullmetal Alchemist, Brotherhood received praise from both critics and viewers and is now considered to be one of the most popular anime series. It was praised for its faithfulness to manga and the introduction of characters and plot details that were not in the 2003 anime. The climactic episodes were also highly acclaimed for their action scenes and moral messages.
