Dirilis: Ertugrul (translated as Resurrection : Ertugrul) is a Turkish historical fiction and adventure television series that Mehmet Bozdag produced for TRT. It stars Engin Altan duzyatan as Ertugrul. It is set in 13th century Turkey and is based upon the life of Ertugrul (father of Osman I), the founder of the Ottoman Empire.
The series was shot in Riva in Istanbul's Beykoz region. It premiered on TRT 1 Turkey on 10/12/2014. The series aired five seasons, ending on 29 May 2019. It was directed by Metin Gunay and written by Mehmet Bozog.
Although the show was well-received in Turkey, Pakistan, and Azerbaijan it has been criticized for promoting a political agenda for Turkey's government.
