The Affair is an American drama series that was created by Sarah Treem, Hagai Levi and aired for five seasons. It concluded with its final episode on November 3. 2019.
It stars Ruth Wilson, Joshua Jackson, Dominic West, and Ruth Wilson. The series also explores extramarital relationships and the emotional consequences. Each episode is often divided into two parts. Each half is told from the perspective of a particular character. Treem used this dramatic device to call The Affair "the Rashomon for relationship dramas".
The series won the Golden Globe Award as Best Television Series – Drama, and Wilson was awarded Best Actress – Television Series Drama at 72nd Golden Globe Awards 2015. Maura Tierney was awarded Best Supporting Actress at the 73rd Golden Globe Awards 2016.
