Bradley Bredeweg and Peter Paige created The Fosters, an American television series about family drama. It premiered on ABC Family (later Freeform), in the United States, on June 3, 2013, and ended on June 6, 2018. It followed the Adams-Foster family, which was led by Stef Foster (a police officer) and Lena Adams (a school vice principal), who raised one biological son and four adoptive teenagers in San Diego.
The first season was generally well received and particularly praised for its representation of LGBT issues. It was also awarded two GLAAD Media awards and one Teen Choice Award.
The Fosters will end after five seasons, Freeform announced on January 3, 2018. The series ended with a final three-episode episode, which served as introduction to Good Trouble (the spin-off series featuring Maia Mitchell & Cierra Ramirez).
