The Killing, an American crime drama television show, premiered April 3, 2011 on AMC. It is based on Danish television series Forbrydelsen ("The Crime") and was created by Veena Sud. Veena Sud developed the American version and it was produced by Fox Television Studios (Fuse Entertainment). The series is set in Seattle, Washington and follows the murder investigations of Sarah Linden (Mireille Eos) & Stephen Holder (Joel Kinnaman).
AMC cancelled the series in July 2012. However, it picked it up for a third-season after renegotiations with Fox Television Studios (Fox) and Netflix. AMC cancelled The Killing in September 2013. However, Netflix announced that it had ordered a fourth series of six episodes. The complete fourth season was available on Netflix as of August 1, 2014.
