The West Wing is an American television series of political dramas created by Aaron Sorkin. It was first broadcast on NBC in September 2002.
The West Wing was produced and starred an ensemble cast including Martin Sheen and John Spencer, Allison Janney and Rob Lowe. Three executive producers were employed for the first four seasons: Thomas Schlamme (primary Director), Sorkin (lead author), and John Wells. Wells was promoted to the position of head writer after Sorkin's departure. Later executive producers were Alex Graves (seasons 6-7) and Christopher Misiano (season 7), as well as Lawrence O'Donnell (season 7).
