Heartland, a Canadian comedy-drama television series for families, debuted on CBC Canada on October 14, 2007.
Based on Lauren Brooke's Heartland series, the series follows Amy Fleming (and her older sister Louise Lou) Fleming as they visit their Alberta-based family ranch Heartland. There, they live with Jack Bartlett, Tim Fleming, Ty Borden, their father, and their grandfather Tim Fleming. The family bonds as they experience the highs and lows that ranch life brings, and the relationship grows closer.
Heartland surpassed Street Legal in the ratings with its 139th episode airing on March 29, 2015.
The series is widely distributed in the United States through broadcast syndication, which runs on weekends. It also forms part of The CW Plus' default national schedule. The series' older episodes can be found on BYUtv and Retro TV as well as COZI TV and Heartland. It was also featured on the old Light TV schedule.
